JAMES Wheatman and Kieran Downey fired Alcester Town Reserves to a 2-1 win at Welford to go joint top of Stratford Alliance Division One.

The visitors scored a goal in each half of Saturday’s contest at Synder Meadow before Welford pulled a goal back in the last minute through Nick Priest.

Victory pushed Alcester to 14 points alongside FC Wickhamford, although Alcester have played a game more.

Joe Shaw scored four times as goal-hungry GSH United hammered visitors Shipston Excelsior Reserves 12-0 to make it seven wins from seven in Division Two.




Tom Smallman bagged a hat-trick after coming on as a substitute for the Henley side, while Joe Frampton also netted twice. Alex Jarvis, John Wakeling and Sam Fowler were also on target.

AFC Stratford Town top the table, three points ahead of GHS but having played two games more after a 5-2 victory at FISSC Reserves.


Sam Jalowiecki netted a hat-trick for AFC, with Alfie Reaper and Luke Wale adding to the tally. Richard Foreman and Zacharius Swart replied.

Jake Harper, Carl Rapson and Connor Moore were the goalscorers for Tysoe United as they swept aside basement side Blockley Sports 3-0 at Sands Road.
