A TRIO of junior students from Warwick Tae Kwon-Do enjoyed great success at Sunday’s South East Championships at Guildford’s Surrey Sports Park on Sunday.

Eight-year-old Jordan Gardner from Wellesbourne won a gold medal in patterns and a gold medal in the boys’ yellow belt pee wee division, whilst Gabriel Butler-Clarke, also aged eight and from Warwick, won a silver medal in the green belt pee wee division, missing out on gold by just one point in the last second of the final.

Gabriel also came third to secure bronze in the boys’ green belt tag team sparring event.

The achievements did not stop there as 15-year-old Jamie Simpson from Napton won a silver medal in the adult black belt tag team sparring.

Cassie Oury, 3rd Degree Instructor, said: “It was a great day out. I only took three students and came back with five medals.

“The boys have been training extremely hard for this event and it certainly paid off.”
