Redditch United full back set to join Stratford Town

STRATFORD Town look set to recruit Jordan Cullinane-Liburd from Southern League Premier Division rivals Redditch United.

However, player of the season Michael McGrath has left the DCS Stadium to join Hednesford Town.

Right back Cullinane-Liburd, who also played for Alvechurch and Leamington youth, featured regularly in the Reds side which reached the play-offs last season but recently appointed Redditch boss Darren Byfield confirmed he expected Cullinane-Liburd to be moving to the DCS Stadium.

Town manager Carl Adams has said he expected to make six or seven new summer signings to bolster the squad after a disappointing end to their first season in the Premier Division.

Cullinane-Liburd’s arrival would increase competition with veteran Gary Moran for the right back spot.

Meanwhile, Hednesford have announced the capture of midfielder McGrath from Town.

McGrath arrived at the DCS from Rushall Olympic mid-season and quickly established himself as a key figure.

However, Hednesford manager Liam McDonald, the former Redditch boss, announced ex-Kidderminster Harriers, Redditch and Stourport Swifts player McGrath would be part of the Keys Park revamp.

“I have known of him for a number of seasons and he actually scored the winning goal against my side last season,” said McDonald.
