Rounders league is coming to town

AN EXCITING new rounders league is coming to Stratford and both men and women are being encouraged to join the fun.

Run by Leagues4you, the competition will be preceded by a refresher session on Wednesday, May 15 before the league itself gets under way on Wednesday, May 22.

Both the refresher event and the league season – which will run on Wednesdays throughout the summer – take place at Stratford-upon-Avon School, where Leagues4you already operates a successful netball league on Monday evenings.

Stratford Leagues4you assistant Beth Pickering said: “Rounders burns up to 400 calories per hour, with sprinting, throwing and batting.

“The league will run between 7pm and 8.30pm and we are expecting some balmy summer evenings.

“With L4Y, you can register as a team or as an individual. Teams consist of nine players – both men and women – and L4Y never charge sign-up fees. It costs less than £4 per person to play.”
