STRATFORD Town Under-16 girls ended league leaders Knowle’s 100% winning record with a fine performance to win 2-0 in Central Warwickshire Girls League Division Two.
Skye Drinkwater gave Stratford the lead on 17 minutes with a low drive from the edge of the area after a spell of sustained pressure.
Stratford continued to dominate but had to wait till 67 minutes to double their advantage when Georgia Helliker raced clear and finished low to the goalkeeper’s right.
Drinkwater took the players’ player of the match award for a fine display on the wing with Mia Davis-Byrne winning the coachers’ player award for a strong physical display in defence.
The team travel to Leamington Lions on Saturday (November 27).
