STRATFORD Athletic Club’s Roger Wilson produced a fine performance to win a silver medal at the annual British Masters 5k Championships around the streets of Horwich in Greater Manchester.
Current England international Wilson, the sole Stratford AC representative at this event, is currently ranked second in the British all-time parkrun rankings in the M75 age category and tenth on the British all-time 5,000m rankings.
He went into the race with a UK ranking of second in his age category for the 5k and his silver medal position, in a time of 23:01, was a true reflection of his ranking.
The M75 age category was won by the UK’s number one-ranked runner and Wilson’s old adversary Les Haynes, whose winning time of 22:01 was exactly a minute quicker.
